My name is Camille Gomera Tavarez. I am a Dominican-American designer, author, and creative from North Jersey, currently based in Philly.

Ask me about cultivating social impact in the digital space, accessible design, bright colors, fun branding, and the craft of truthful storytelling.

DC Beings (and its Spanish-language cousin “Bien Estar”) is Washington DC’s official source for Sexual Health news, resources, and testimonials. I worked with them to create a brand for the city’s “Free Condoms” campaign mail service and put together visuals for science-backed PSAs. Other work included weekly blog illustrations, social media posts, animations, and even a guide to having safe sex during the COVID-19 crisis.

Freedom
Starts With Her

PAI (Population Action International) has been championing global women’s rights for decades. Under the Trump administration in 2025, $600M in funding was cut for family planning and reproductive health services abroad, affecting more than 50 million women around the world. In response to this, I worked with them to launch an awareness campaign called “Freedom Starts with Her” – including a logo design, a full suite of branding materials, and animating a launch video.

At political marketing agency Authentic Campaigns, I worked under former White House Creative Director Meena Yi on a number of projects creating social media graphics, digital campaigns, and web designs for progressive organizations & political figures like United We Dream, Flip the Senate, Ilhan Omar, Hakeem Jeffries, Barbara Lee, & more.

For Rep. Omar’s brand revamp, her team wanted to create merch designs that catered to a more youthful audience. I also developed promotional social graphics for the new designs.

Asphalt Green

Asphalt Green is a NYC non-profit that prides itself on building community through sports, fitness, and play. After my colleagues at Fenton developed their new brand identity, I was tasked with storyboarding and developing an animated launch video. I worked with Kenneth Krueger (Animator) and Elizabeth Herzfeldt-Kamprath (Video Director) to bring their new brand to life and incorporate dynamic motion into this motion-centered brand. The launch video was even adapted into a massive billboard featured in Times Square.

Adam Schiff, a client of Authentic Campaigns, is a Congressional Representative for California’s 28th District. After working on designing most of his digital ads and a series of merch designs, his team came to me for a new website design to commemorate the launch of his book, Midnight in Washington.

Verizon + HEGC

The Houston Economic Growth Collaboration (HEGC) is a coalition of residents, nonprofits, and corporations like Verizon who work together to improve quality of life for the mostly Black and Latinx residents of Northeast Houston. To accurately meet the needs of the community, I developed print materials to collect surveys, directed a video shoot at one of their community events in Houston, and conducted interviews with local grassroots leaders. This culminated in a two-minute explainer video for their new website, which I storyboarded and edited.

Plantin Mag

In spaces for Black writing, the focus is often on African Americans. In spaces for Immigrants, Black Immigrants are often left out. Plantin is a magazine I founded that is dedicated to being an un-gated platform for writers & poets belonging to the Black immigrant experience. In addition to being the web designer and editor-in-chief, I work to connect writers to a network of generous illustrators and designers to create the visuals for each issue. I also designed the branding and all social media materials. Plantin has received grant funding from Feminist Idea Lab and the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
